Acrylic globes can be drilled, yes, but there's a risk of cracking. This would also void the warranty and be done at your own risk.
Would it be possible to drill a small hole near the base of this globe? I have several of these globes that are have a hole on either side used to attach the globe to a ceramic base with small wires.
