I have changed all our 277v fluorescents to direct wire without a ballast, but I need the battery back up in many of them. One side should receive constant power, to charge the battery and detect outages for emergency operation, while normal power should be supplied to the other end from a different breaker, with a wall switch for everyday on and off operation.
